A film about a grizzly bear that is stalking campers in Alaska wilderness is going to be shot in Squamish. The three-day film shooting for ‘Red Machine’ will take place in different locations around downtown Squamish.
Below are the locations to help you assess how the crew’s activities might affect your routine.
Monday January 30
11am – 9 pm: The majority of the day the crew will be filming at the Squamish Budget Inn, 38012 3rd Avenue, for both interior and exterior scenes. There will be work trucks parked in the rear of the motel and along Victoria adjacent to the motel.
Tuesday January 31
10 am – 10 pm: The filming will be at the Squamish Budget Inn, 38012 3rd Avenue for both interior and exterior scenes. There will be work trucks parked in the rear of the motel and along Victoria adjacent to the motel. There may be intermittent traffic control on 3rd Avenue for exterior scenes. Scenes will feature an ambulance so neighbors will see the emergency lights flashing.
Wednesday February 1
11 am – 4 pm: There will be filming at the Government Boat Dock, 37778 Loggers Lane. Scenes at the dock feature our actors running down the dock and departing in a boat.
4 pm -9 pm: There will be filming in the Chieftain Pub, 38005 Cleveland Avenue for interior scenes only. The work trucks will be parked along Victoria adjacent to the pub and the alley behind the pub.
The crew’s personal cars and larger support trailers will be parked in the parking lot next to the Parkside Restaurant, with some parking also used on Cleveland Avenue adjacent to the park. Trucks are planned to arrive in the parking lot on Friday January 27.
