Squamish RCMP is looking for a man who has been seen masturbating in public places.
On Jan. 30, RCMP received a report of this male in the general vicinity of Valleycliffe Elementary School. He has been described as being in his 20s, white, 5’2 – 5’8″ tall, lighter colored hair, known to wear a dark (black or blue) “hoodie” or Arc’teryx jacket, beige pants, black boots, and a beige toque.

Drug Seizure Leads to Arrest
On Jan 27th, at approximately 9 p.m., Squamish RCMP members attended a local pub to arrest a male in relation to another Squamish file. The male was arrested and a search revealed 3.3 grams of cocaine on his person, and 9 bags (4 grams in each bag) of Cocaine wrapped in several packages in his jacket pocket. As a result, in addition to the matter, the make was arrested for he received an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Public Assistance Sought in Fiery Crash Near Whistler
On Jan 28, at 11:10 p.m., Whistler RCMP were notified of a collision that occurred between two vehicles on Highway 99, 500 meters south of Function Junction. RCMP are seeking any witnesses who may have witnessed the blue pickup truck or have any information in relation to this incident. If anyone has any information they are asked to please call RCMP or CrimeStoppers (1-800-222-TIPS / 1-800-222-8477) and provide details or leads to investigators (photo of vehicle operated by the offending driver causing the crash attached)
Break and Enter at Braun Autoworks
On Jan 29, at 7:42 p.m., Squamish RCMP received a report of an alarm at Braun Autoworks on Progress Way. RCMP attended and observed the front glass door almost completely shattered and a male was taken from the store was a cash drawer. The matter is still under investigation.
Taxi Driver Assaulted
On Jan 26th, Squamish RCMP were contacted by a local taxi driver had just been assaulted by a male, it occurred near the Marina. The taxi driver stated that he picked up a male from a bar toward the middle of Squamish. Steps to identify the offender and investigation continue.
Bicycle Thefts
Over the past year most police jurisdictions, including Squamish, have realized an increase in bicycle thefts. In many cases, owners have not taken basic precautions to secure their bikes, record serial number and/or otherwise engrave the bicycle. Police would like to remind owners of bicycles (and any removable item from vehicle items, electronics to BBQs, etc. to photograph, record serial numbers, engrave with name and owner “BC DL#………….” (British Columbia Drivers License#).

Break, Enter and Theft – Ministry of Children and Families (MCFD)
On Jan 25, police attended to an intrusion alarm at MCFD, conducted a search and located a broken window. It appeared electronics had been pulled through window. The area was contained and Police Service Dog team called upon to conduct a track. The Police dog tracked found some of the items stolen. Investigation steps led to the attaining of a search warrant and residential search. Items recovered, investigation continues.
