Theft from vehicles in Valleycliffe and Downtown Squamish

staff report
February 20, 2020 10:22am

Squamish RCMP are reporting three cases of theft from vehicles in Downtown Squamish and Valleycliffe.

On February 12, 2020, two tool boxes were stolen from a car parked in Downtown Squamish. Cordless tools stolen include a Dewalt drill, impact driver, sander, driver, jigsaw and stiletto hammers.

In the second such incident on February 13, 2020, a driver parked his unlocked car along Mockingbird Crescent, the housing subdivision near the Brennan Park Recreation Centre. A wallet and small amount of cash were stolen.

RCMP investigated a third theft on February 16, 2020, when a citizen’s car parked on Lombardy Crescent in Valleycliffe was broken into.

A headlamp, pocket knife and car manual were the items that were stolen. The investigation remains ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Squamish RCMP are asking people to report all thefts from vehicles to the police so they can gather information that may connect these incidents.

That connection leads to police identifying a suspect or making an arrest.
