Several people speeding on Highway 99 were issued tickets, and their cars were impounded by the RCMP yesterday.
“Our Sea to Sky Traffic Services was able to catch up with several speeders on the Sea to Sky Highway,” said Squamish RCMP.
The Sea to Sky Traffic Services issued tickets amounting to $483 in fines and impounded the vehicles for seven days.
The speeding vehicles were travelling at 164 kilometre in an 80-kilometre zone near Porteau Cove. A few weeks ago, Squamish RCMP had impounded a Lamborghini for speeding near Porteau Cove as well.
The Lamborghini driver was travelling at a speed of 130 kilometre per hour in an 80-kilometre per hour zone when he was stopped at Porteau Cove.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver was given a violation ticket.
