BC Parks will start towing illegally parked vehicles at Porteau Cove Provincial Park this week.
Due to increased safety hazards resulting from overflowing traffic at Porteau Cove Provincial Park, BC Parks will start towing illegally parked vehicles in the park and on the highway right of way.
As of Saturday September 5, illegally parked vehicles will be towed from in the park and on the highway.
“Starting September 5, 2020, vehicles parked illegally at Porteau Cove Park will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Visitors must park in designated parking lots and observe the “no parking” signs posted,” BC Parks said.
Park visitors should also be aware of a train line which runs alongside the park, BC Parks says.
Trains can run during the early hours of the morning which can cause some noise disruption within the park, BC Parks added.
BC Parks also announced last week that it will not allow parking on Alice Lake Road, and vehicles parked illegally on the road will be towed.
“In order to maintain park safety and public security, all vehicles parked illegally and on road edges will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense,” BC Parks said.
Vehicles parked illegally at Shannon Falls Provincial Park and those parked illegally at Stawamus Chief including the Apron parking lot will also be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
Parking is only allowed in designated parking lots and people are being asked to observe the “no parking” signs.
