Squamish RCMP says three cars were broken into this past week in town.
On March 13, a car parked in an underground parking lot in the 38000 block of Loggers Lane was broken into.
Thieves stole a wallet containing a bankcard and then withdrew a substantial amount of money from the owner’s account.
In the second incident on March 15, a car parked in the 1200 block of Village Green Way was broken into.
Stolen from the car were headphones, a hunting knife, and loose change.
In a third incident on March 16, 2021, a car parked along the 38000 block of Guilford Drive was broken into.
Thieves stole gift cards and loose change from this car.
Last week, Squamish RCMP announced they are on a heightened alert after four vehicle thefts in one week in town.
Police has dedicated resources to catch car thieves through enhanced patrols, says Cpl. Angela Kermer of the Outreach and Investigation Team.
Kermer said the local police will also be utilizing bait program to arrest those responsible for the recent spate of cat thefts in town.
