August 19, 2021 11:57am

Squamish RCMP are investigating after thieves smashed a stolen car into a parked car in the community.

On August 12, at about 8:40 pm, officers investigated a report of stolen vehicle that was seen in the community.

The driver and passenger of the stolen car went into a residential area and crashed the stolen car into another parked car, and then fled the area.

Squamish RCMP continue to investigate.

On August 14, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of a wallet and bank cards that were stolen from a car parked in the 1300 block of Valleyside Place.

Thieves used the stolen bank cards to make fraudulent purchases at local merchants.

Owners of the stolen cards have since cancelled them to ensure no further frauds happen.

On August 9, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of attempted theft that happened sometime overnight. Thieves tried to remove catalytic converters from two separate work vehicles parked in the 38000 block of Queens Way.
