The Sea to Sky Hospice Society is inviting the community to the 16th annual Hike for Hospice event. The event will take place on May 1, from 12 pm to 3 pm, at O’Siyam Pavilion and Junction Park.
The Sea to Sky Hospice Society provides important programs and services for those facing life limiting illnesses and grief from the loss of a loved one, says Leslie de Bie, the executive director of the society.
de Bie says she wishes these services and programs were available to her as she navigated her way through incredible loss and grief. She says she could attest to how important these services are to the healing process.
Those interested in the hike can do so by filling out the registration form, and then choose to make a donation or build their own fundraising page that can be shared with friends and family. Locals are invited to fundraise during the month of May to support Hospice Society Programs, and post photos of their commitment and support to social media pages using the hash tag #hikeforhospice or #seatoskyshospicesociety
“Help us reach our goal of raising $35,000 for our community by showing your support and joining the fun all in the name of hospice,” de Bie says.
The top fundraiser will win a trip for two in Whistler, including a two-night stay for two at the fabulous Nita Lake Lodge in a lakeside suite, a gift certificate to Alta Bistro, and a spa experience at Scandinave Spa. Individuals have until May 31st, 2022 at 11:59 pm to raise funds.
“With your support we can ensure that the Sea to Sky community receives the compassionate care that they need through hospice programs and counselling services,” de Bie says.
