Squamish RCMP is close to cracking open the case of serial egging after identifying two suspects who egged several vehicles in town.
Between May to September, Squamish RCMP received 26 reports of eggs being thrown at vehicles.
Because of the public outcry, the local RCMP created a task force to hatch this case. Task Force SCRAMBLE was a collaboration between frontline policing and the Squamish General Investigation Section to address a serious problem identified by the community.
After a considerable amount of time, investigation and resources, Task Force SCRAMBLE has identified and processed two suspects. Charges have not yet been laid.
“We believe many more people were affected than actually came forward, but regardless, these acts have been a nuisance and frustrating given numerous vehicles that were damaged,” says Staff Sgt. Gareth Bradley of Squamish RCMP.
“I would like to thank the egg-cellent work by the investigative teams on solving these crimes as well as the public who have called in to report these crimes to the police.”
