Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Howe Sound. Heavy snow is expected tonight through to Sunday.
Arctic outflow conditions will develop overnight leading to moderate to heavy snow, beginning near midnight. The heavier snow continues through much of Sunday morning before easing in the afternoon. Total snowfall amounts are expected to be at least 15 cm and possibly up to 20 cm.
Strong northerly winds gusting to 50 km/h and up to 80 km/h are also in forecast for Howe Sound.
Wind will continue to be strong in the beginning of next week.
“The strong winds and fresh snow will combine to significantly reduce visibilities tonight and tomorrow. Use extra caution if out driving, or walking in these adverse winter conditions,” cautions the agency. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” the agency cautions.
