Driving conditions could be challenges for commuters this Wednesday and drivers should drive carefully, BC has cautioned. In a statement issued last night, the Province has urged drivers to use caution with rain and flurries in the forecast.
Environment Canada is forecasting wet snow mixed with rain, with local snowfall as much as four centimetres in higher terrain. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure maintenance contractors will be monitoring conditions and will be out in full force to plow, sand and salt roads as necessary.
Drivers should avoid travel in poor weather conditions, prepare for delays and longer commutes, and ensure their vehicles are properly equipped with winter tires.
Drivers are asked to provide space to maintenance crews on highways and move over safely when they see a vehicle with amber light approaching. This will allow crews to improve road conditions and reduce hazards for drivers.
