Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Squamish. Heavy rain is expected in the Howe Sound region, which starts tonight and continue to Monday night. Upto 65 mm of rain is expected. Strong southeast winds, ranging from 50 km\hour to 70 km/h near Bowen Island are also in store for the region.
According to Environment Canada a strong Pacific weather system will arrive tonight, bringing rain and winds to the South Coast. For Howe Sound, heavy rain start this evening and continues through to Monday night. Heavy rain will ease to scattered showers on Monday night.
The River Forecast Centre has also issues a High Streamflow Warning for Howe Sound. The upcoming storm will mark a significant shift in streamflow runoff conditions and rivers are expected to rise rapidly in response to rainfall starting late Sunday into Monday.
