A new market, rental, and commercial building proposed in Valleycliffe will be a priority project for the District of Squamish.
The project will come before the district’s Advisor Design Panel for discussion on July 19. Since it is a priority project because of 100 percent rentals, it will only appear before the committee once.
The mixed-use building is proposed at 38201 Westway Avenue in Valleycliffe. It is in the commercial plaza, east of the Backyard Pub and the new Mexican eatery Pink Tuna. The approximately 5,620 square metres area is irregular in shape and has access from Maple Drive and Westway Avenue.
The proposed development is a five-storey mixed-use building which will replace the existing commercial building. Three commercial units are proposed for the ground floor, with 45 market rental units above. Of these 45 units, as many as 30 will be studios, and 15 will be one-bedroom plus den. The development also proposes a rooftop amenity area and 78 parking spaces.
Ivan DeWolf says
I wonder who the developer is? I wonder what their budget is? I wonder what the expected rental monthly per bedroom is?
