BC Transit is introducing white and green colours for its new fleet to showcase its commitment to climate-friendly transit.
In a press release, BC Transit said it will roll out eight new heavy-duty and 81 new light-duty buses across the province in the fall.
“The new green look expresses BC Transit’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and encouraging people to take public transit, thereby decreasing pollution in communities by reducing the number of cars on the road,” the company said.
The front of the buses will be green, and the back will be white. The two colours merge at the centre, separated by a diagonal swoop, creating a sense of movement. All new transit buses will feature this new look, which changes after 17 years. BC Transit will continue replacing its buses with a more sustainable fleet through the low carbon fleet program.
The new green design will also be featured on the electric bus fleet on the roads in 2025.
