The annual Squamish Battle of the Businesses fundraiser is set to return this November, promising an even bigger impact for Squamish’s Community Christmas Care initiative. This year’s event aims to raise $75,000 and attract ten new participating businesses, building on the tremendous success of previous years.
“Every dollar donated in Squamish goes three times further when spent with the wholesale purchasing power of our local grocery partners,” says Melanie Bradley, event organizer. “This multiplier effect significantly boosts our community’s economy while supporting those facing a difficult season.”
Ambitious Goals for 2024
This year’s Battle of the Businesses has set its sights on:
Raising $75,000 for Community Christmas Care
Welcoming ten new businesses to the competition
Providing incredible hampers to families in need
Distributing grocery cards to empower recipients
“We’re excited to build on the last few of years’ successes, where we saw over $160,000 raised,” Bradley adds. “With more businesses joining the battle, we’re confident we can make an even bigger difference this year”.
How to Participate
Businesses can challenge each other to raise more funds between November 1 and December 15. The competition fosters a spirit of friendly rivalry while uniting the community for a common cause. Residents can follow the event’s progress on Instagram @SquamishBattleOfBusinesses for real-time updates, participating business spotlights, and heartwarming stories of impact.
