The Squamish at Dusk festival is back for its second annual celebration, lighting up Rose Park on Thursday to Saturday evenings from November 28 to December 14, 2024. Following last year’s debut, Squamish at Dusk will transform the park into a dazzling winter wonderland, according to a press release issued by the organizers.
This year’s event will feature more lights and installations spread throughout the park. Visitors can expect to stroll through an ocean-themed zone listening to Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh nation stories, play with interactive lights, explore a forest of giant flowers, and experience creative illuminations and giant interactive, glowing creatures.
“We were so pleased with the community’s positive response to the pilot event last year,” says Melanie Lazelle, Director of The Wilder. “We think there is a real need for events and things to do in Squamish during our winter evenings, and we’re excited to work with so many wonderful community partners to bring Dusk back again.”
“This year, we’re thrilled to bring even more light installations, art, and storytelling to the event, and we hope it will become a holiday tradition in Squamish. There will be some sparkly lights, but it’s more than just festive lights; it’s going to be really creative and fun. We would love for it to be a place for families, friends, and visitors to come together and play, make memories, and hang out while surrounded by glowing lights. We think it’s going to be magical!”
She said the event offers a perfect winter evening outing for all ages, from families to those on date nights, friends, and adults, creating a space to celebrate and connect. Visitors will enjoy cozy fireside areas and a tent with warm drinks, sweet treats, and a dinner option each night. Tickets can be purchased at squamishatdusk.com.
