3.8 magnitude earthquake shakes Greater Victoria

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck near Victoria late Thursday night, February 13, according to Earthquakes Canada. The earthquake occurred at 9:59 pm and was reported 17 kilometres from Victoria.

According to reports, the tremor was lightly felt in Victoria, Sidney, and southern Vancouver Island. There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected due to the earthquake’s moderate intensity.

No alerts or warnings have been issued.
