Drivers on Highway 99 should plan for lane closures and possible delays due to upcoming construction, utility work, and a major special event.
In Squamish, northbound construction between Scott Crescent and Cleveland Avenue will close the right-turn lane and shoulder on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning Friday, May 2. Work will end early on Fridays at noon and is scheduled to wrap up by Friday, May 16. A pedestrian detour will be in place.
Also near Squamish, utility work between Sea View Drive and Copper Drive—approximately 2 to 7 kilometres south of town—will close the northbound right lane overnight from 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, to 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 10.
Highway 99 will see temporary lane closures and potential congestion due to the Vancouver Sun Run in Vancouver. The event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, affecting a 3.3-kilometre stretch between West Pender Street and the Lions Gate Bridge.
